The Templars roamed the Iberian Peninsula on horseback and did not hesitate to pursue and charge their enemies whenever possible. The Templar Order, also known as the Order of the Poor Knights of Christ, was founded in the 12th century to protect both the holy sites of Jerusalem and pilgrims who traveled to the city from Saracen attacks.
